The City
of Tombstone operates the Boot Hill Graveyard and Gift Shop. The
newly-renovated gift shop offers unique Boot Hill items for sale that
cannot be found elsewhere in town. The Boot Hill Graveyard & Gift
Shop are the first attractions you see when coming to Tombstone via
Interstate 10 (and/or State Highway 80) on the left-hand side.
Make the
Boot Hill Graveyard & Gift Shop your first stop. After all, people
have been dying to get in here for more than 125 years!

Tombstone's City Park is a
wonderful place to sit and relax a bit during your travels about town
in search of the mother lode of history and entertainment scattered
throughout the town.
The Park has restrooms,
picnic tables, a swingset, and a beautiful gazebo.
Please note: No
dogs are allowed in the City Park.
Schieffelin
Monument

After
cashing in on the Arizona bonanza, Ed Schieffelin went back to the
mining life he knew so well. He prospected in Alaska in 1882, and later
in the Pacific Northwest.
Schieffelin
died in Grant County, Oregon, on May 14, 1897, at the age of 49. At his
request, he was returned to Tombstone for burial, nine days after his
death.
He
was afforded a grand funeral at Schieffelin Hall. He was laid to rest
on a hillside about a mile from town, beneath a marker (pictured above)
in the shape of a miner's claim.

The Tombstone Courthouse State Historic
Park, 219 E. Toughnut St., was built at a spare no expense cost of
$50,000 in 1882. The building contains displays pertaining to the
history of Tombstone and Cochise County, using antiques and artifacts
to present the lives of former citizens. Among the displays are a
full-sized jail cell, a gallows, and a beautifully restored courtroom.
Allow 1 hour minimum. Admission $4; ages 7-13, $1; under 7 free.
